Hi fish friends,

We’ve been busy filming, editing content, hosting events and planning for the year ahead! Today we’re sharing two videos, one is a preview of a sturgeon farm we filmed in December. The second is the final version of our Eat the Whole Fish episode. If you have any adventurous chefs in your life – please share this video with them! We’ll also be releasing our sixth episode – featuring land-based pompano farm, Aquaco, in the next couple weeks, so make sure you’re subscribed to our YouTube channel to see the new video. And at the end of the email, we’ve shared some pictures from our shoot last week at Sun Shrimp. We’re working hard to expand our reach this year, and if you know of a way you can help, please let us know with an email.

We have two events later this week, and we’d love to see you there.

  • February 18th – Shark Valley full moon bike ride hosted in collaboration with the Love The Everglades Movement. Register here to have a South Florida experience you’ll treasure.

  • February 19th – Sunset Biscayne Bay Boat Trip with UM PhD student Jesse to learn about the ecological history of Biscayne Bay and the indigenous and colonial history of the area. Reserve your ticket today!

Your donation will go towards the post-production costs for our 7th and 8th episodes. Thank you for helping make our work possible.

Here Dan Diez is getting shots of baby shrimp in the lab.

Next to the farm is a food truck – where folks can try the shrimp fresh from the farm. We tried the garlic and butter shrimp and it was amazing.

Here our Cinematographer, Daniel Kaplan, is filming in the ‘love room.’ This room houses the brood stock for the farm – which are the parents that make baby shrimp.

Sun Shrimp owner, Robin Pearl and Sereia Films founder, Sarah Curry, eating from Eddy’s Awesome Shrimp food truck. In the episode we also follow the shrimp to Micheal’s Genuine in Miami’s Design District.
