Sarah received her Master’s in Environmental Journalism, and has produced award-winning documentaries and web shorts. Her sustainable seafood films have screened nationally and internationally at film festivals.  They have also been featured on PBS and have screened at the Miami Science Museum.  Sarah is a sustainable seafood advocate and is committed to environmental education. She loves to create thought-provoking content, highlighting not only the problems we face globally, but also solutions.  After receiving her undergraduate degree in Marine Science she worked on commercial fishing boats and saw first hand the impact humans can have on the environment. She continues to be amazed by the planet on a daily basis.

Jazmine Evans

Jazmine has a MPS in aquaculture from the University of Miami and has worked as a hatchery technician and researcher in the US and Panama. She joined Sereia’s team in the Summer of 2023 where she began leveraging her experience in aquaculture to advocate for sustainable seafood practices.  

Jazmine’s journey in aquaculture has provided her with valuable insights into the workings of seafood production. Her hands-on experience in hatcheries and research endeavors has deepened her understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the industry, fueling her passion for promoting responsible seafood consumption.

With a mission to make science accessible to everyone, Jazmine channels her expertise into managing the organization’s social media presence and creating educational content. She is passionate about empowering individuals to make informed choices about the seafood they consume, driving positive change for the health of our oceans.

Morgan Heim

Morgan is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker. She loves helping wildlife and people and wants them to do a better job of living together. She is an International Conservation Photographer Fellow, and her work appears in outlets such as BBC Wildlife, Smithsonian, Nature Conservancy, Newsweek, and National Geographic. She supports budding storytellers and leads workshops around the world.

Jessie Lucier

Jessie Lucier, writer, ghostwriter, editor and consultant with a wellness, spirituality and sustainability focus, has been working with therapists, coaches, teachers and entrepreneurs all over the world for more than a decade. Passionate about the planet and the human experience, Jessie supports wellness and sustainability leaders in building bridges and expanding their ideas, practices and passions into the greater world through books and media content. Jessie, also a journalist, has written on topics ranging from the economic, agricultural and environmental impact of colony collapse disorder (CCD) and local food production to yoga and mindfulness for numerous media organizations, including Yoga Journal, Gaiam Life, Backpacker Magazine, Boulder Weekly and Local Food Shift. Jessie earned a BA in Anthropology and Photography from Marlboro College and an MA in Journalism with a Certificate in Environment, Policy and Society from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She lives in beautiful Boulder, CO with her two children and crazy cat Mr. Wizard.

Michael Aldonas

Michael lends a bit of a seafood industry perspective. He helps seafood producers generate and execute go-to-market strategies. He previously worked for several prominent finfish farms throughout the supply chain. Prior to joining the seafood industry, Michael earned graduate degrees in aquaculture and business. He enjoys the diverse cast of characters found in the seafood business.

Molly Rettig

Molly has an MA in Journalism with a focus on Environmental Policy. She moved to Fairbanks to work as a reporter for the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner in 2010 and covered government, science, and education. She started working at the nonprofit Cold Climate Housing Research Center in 2011 because she loved the mission of creating sustainable, culturally appropriate housing for Alaskans.

Alex Smith

Alex Smith is a researcher and ocean-lover with an interdisciplinary background in economics and coastal resource management.  Her work has focused on applied fisheries modeling, climate resilient resource management and sustainable development projects. 

Her time working with small-scale fishing cooperatives in Belize and Mexico inspired her passion for inclusive and actionable research that supports communities who depend on their natural resources.  She is currently working for Scoot Science, modeling ocean risk to improve fish welfare and encourage sustainable practices in aquaculture. Through this work she continues to explore how interactive technologies and data sharing can engage new audiences in understanding and protecting our changing ocean environments. 

Becky Holt

Becky is an executive producer and brand consultant. She’s spent her career highlighting the work of mission-forward, international brands and telling the stories of those on the front lines of seafood production, renewable energy, and conservation. Most recently, she was a senior executive at the Global Aquaculture Alliance, where she produced seven documentary short films featuring the personal stories of aquaculture farmers around the world.

Adriana Sanchez

Adriana is the founder of Seafood Ninja, Inc., a consultancy which aims to provide affordable solutions for sustainable seafood sourcing to the seafood industry and their clients. Prior to this role, she served as the Responsible Seafood Strategy Director for Iberostar, where she developed their Responsible Seafood Commitment of 100% responsible seafood sourcing in all hotels by 2025. Adriana has also held key roles as the Business Development Manager at Fair Trade USA and the Sustainability Director at Sea Delight, LLC. She is a graduate of the University of Florida and is known for her expertise in building partnerships between the seafood industry and conservation groups, making her a leading voice in the sustainable seafood movement.

 

Lisette Boosooboy

Lisette Boosooboy is a designer and senior project manager with M.C. Harry Associates, an architectural and interior design firm that has been practicing in Miami and the South Florida region for 56 years. Lisette is originally from Trinidad and Tobago and came to Miami to study Interior Design at Florida International University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design and a Master of Interior Architecture. 

Lisette’s involvement in the design community extends beyond the office. An active member of FIU’s Interior Architecture Advisory Board, Lisette chaired their Fundraising Committee and was head of their major annual fundraiser Festival of the Trees for 10 years. She also participates in design orientated competitions that raises funds to benefit organizations such as the Miami Children’s Hospital, IIDA’s Interior Design Academic Foundation and Kristi House.
